Benefits of Spirulina
I’m always searching for new healthy supplements to add into my diet, when I came across spirulina I was impressed by the amount of nutrients that are found in this powder. Spiraling is packed with various nutrients and antioxidants which positively impact your body and brain health. Spirulina is a type of algae that is loaded with nutrients such as protein, iron, magnesium, and potassium to just name a few. The amount of protein in spirulina provides all the essential amino acids that your body needs as well. The main active component of spirulina is phycocyanin, which is a strong antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties. This is also the ingredient that gives spirulina its blue-green color (which is also a hit for the kiddos!) Spirulina also helps to reduce blood pressure levels because it boosts production of nitric oxide. One of the most important benefits of spirulina for my family’s active lifestyle is that it provides many exercise benefits to improve muscle strength and endurance. This smoothie is an easy way to get valuable nutrients and even easier to get the kids to drink it when it’s a fun blue color. They don’t even realize how healthy it actually is!
